National costume insurance
Insurance for national costume on May 17th and throughout the year.
The national costume requires its own insurance
Many national costumes have a high value, – not just sentimental value, but also as a particularly expensive piece of clothing. A national costume insurance policy will cover damage, accidents and theft, and secure you financially when you need it.
In some cases, the national costume will be covered by home contents insurance and travel insurance . The advantage of national costume insurance is that you’re covered for losses and almost all types of damage, including when in use and when travelling.

How to take care of your national costume
- Air the national costume after use, remove any stains.
- Store the national costume in a garment bag in the wardrobe in the bedroom. Ensure a good temperature and air circulation. Avoid using lofts, sheds and damp places to avoid moths getting into your garment.
- Store brooches in sealed plastic bags to slow down oxidisation.
- Wash the national costume shirt after use and store it in a shirt bag. Avoid ironing a shirt straight after washing, as it can yellow.
- Do you have a national costume with sewn-on buttons and silver that needs a polish? Use a polishing tray and polishing cloth – do not use a polishing agent, to protect the fabric.
