Learn to manage money
Debit card is the most common method of payment Norway. For children, getting their own debit card is a good introduction to learning about money, finances and that the account can be just as empty as a wallet.
It’s safe for your child to use the card
- Children’s cards have limits suited to their age.
- The card cannot be overdrawn – it can only be used when there is money in the account.
- Children’s cards cannot be used for online shopping, and therefore cannot be added to smart watches and smartphones.
- The child gets their own mobile and online banking, but the adult can also monitor the child’s use by checking the balance in their own online and mobile banking accounts..
