The Commodity School is a course designed for businesses that deal in commodities
The lecturers at the Commodity Seminar
Our lecturers have extensive industry experience and provide up-to-date knowledge illustrated with practical examples.
As a course participant, you will get an introduction to different commodity markets, learn about market research and get an insight into the outlook for future energy and commodity prices.
The lecturers at DNB Markets’ Commodity Seminar are employees in this division and have daily contact with customers. Therefore, you are guaranteed to get up-to-date knowledge illustrated by a number of real-life examples.
The purpose of the course is to put participants in a position to formulate strategies for managing risk. Learning about current hedging instruments is a major part of this.
The course is taught using a combination of lectures, assignments and case studies.
Please be aware that the course will be conducted primarily in Norwegian.

Send emailAmong other areas, Karl Magnus works in energy market investments. He has a PhD from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology and many years’ experience in energy research from Berkeley in the US and Ecoles des Mines in Paris.
Kristoffer Dale
Head of Commodities
Send emailKristoffer manages our commodities department and previously worked at BNP Paribas in London and New York. He studied at Cass and Regents in London.
Børge Rogstad
Head of Risk Advisory
Send emailBørge has worked in risk management and with hedging instruments in DNB Markets since 2001. He has an MSc (Civil engineering) in Mathematics from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology and has an MBA in Finance from the Norwegian School of Economics.
Helge-Andrè Martinsen
Oil analyst
Send emailHelge-Andrè is one of our oil analysts. He also has experience from Hydro and Statoil, with oil companies as a specialism. He studied Petroleum Engineering at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology.
