DNB Consulting
DNB Consulting is an in-house consulting firm. We are a strategic adviser that helps DNB make good decisions and position itself for the future financial industry.
Are you our new team member?
We are looking for talented and passionate consultants who want to work together to find the best solutions for DNB and our customers. We are looking for both newly-trained and experienced consultants. You have strong strategic and analytical skills, as well as good communication skills. Furthermore, you must have a good business understanding and interest in banking/finance with the ability to create solid results for our customers through teamwork and relationship building.
How do we work?
We are around 20 engaged consultants with solid management consulting expertise, broad knowledge of DNB and a way of working adapted to the organisation.
In the projects, we focus on advisory services and early-stage initiatives, and implement projects for all of DNB’s business areas. Our portfolio of projects thus covers a wide range of the Group’s operations and reflects what are always the most important strategic priorities at DNB.
We typically work in a team of two to three consultants. In addition, we work closely with professional resources from the rest of the bank. This is how we create good opportunities for learning and expertise building within the team, and ensure high quality deliverables to the customer.

Why did you choose DNB Consulting?
At DNB Consulting, I encounter a wide range of strategic issues, experience a strong trust from customers, and see continuity in relationships and networks in Norway’s leading financial services group.
Here I get to work closely with managers and key figures across the bank’s areas of advisory services, research, strategy and business development.
What is your best advice for people who want to apply for a job in DNB Consulting?
Be well prepared for the interview! Gain insight into the industry and the company, and familiarize yourself with the position. Be clear about what motivates you, why you want the job, and how you can contribute to creating value for DNB.
Katherine Thornton – senior manager

Have you been able to use your education as a consultant?
My psychology studies gave me a basic understanding of people, cognitive processes and bias. So I use my degree every day to work better with different types of people, put together well-functioning teams, design good workshops and, last but not least, ask good questions.
What surprised you when you started in DNB?
As an in-house consultant, you are exposed to the breadth of the bank and are offered many exciting opportunities.
Among other things, I have acted as a communications adviser to the CEO and manager of the personal customer market. In both roles, I have learnt a lot that I bring to my projects.

What is the best thing about DNB Consulting?
The best thing is that we can work on some of the most current and exciting projects at the bank.
At the same time, we have a very good social environment where there’s always someone to have a coffee or lunch with, as well as various social events for those who are able to.
What do you appreciate about the projects?
I really appreciate working on projects focused on a range of different issues and continually building relevant expertise.
In addition, I get to work closely with managers around DNB, and feel I’m a valued resource in a large group that’s undergoing change.
