How we manage our mandate
We have a pool of NOK 250 million that we can invest in relevant and innovative start-ups. This pool of cash is managed through minority investments for which we actively exercise ownership.
Geographical location
The Nordic region is the primary focus of investments. This is based on the Group’s market insights and network in the Nordic market. Proximity to the companies is also important to realise the objectives of the investments.
Sectors
We primarily invest in companies associated with the financial sector. This can be companies that deliver financial services or products, or products and services that are a key part of a financial value chain.
Phase and ownership interest
We invest in promising start-ups that have a confirmed business model and paying customers. The companies will typically be in the «seed» phase, and we prefer ownership interests of 10–20 per cent.
In addition to capital, DNB Ventures can provide
- support to the board on topics such as corporate governance and capital raising
- input and challenges to management in strategy and business development
- access to internal expertise within the Group and our external network
- dialogue with relevant business areas to explore opportunities for collaboration
- attendance at events and meeting places that provide relevant exposure
